One to One THROWING SESSIONS
- One session lasts 90 minutes (excluding a short break)
- please get in touch with me directly to arrange your session times. You can email me at nur@noarcreative.com.
- The single taster session is a relaxed, hands-on introduction to wheel throwing — ideal if you're curious about pottery or just want to try something creative. We’ll begin with a short demonstration covering the basics: preparing clay, centering, and forming simple shapes. Then you'll work on your own wheel, with my support throughout. You'll have time to make at least two small pieces, like bowls or cups, and start getting a feel for working with clay. It’s a calm, enjoyable session with no pressure — just a chance to explore and create. All materials, tools, and firing are included. After the session, I’ll trim and glaze your chosen pieces, and they’ll be ready to collect in about three weeks. It’s a lovely way to start your pottery journey and take home something truly personal.
- The 2-session option allows you to take your pottery experience a step further by following one of your pieces through the next stage of the making process. In the first session, you’ll learn the basics of throwing on the wheel — starting with a short demonstration, then creating at least two simple forms, like bowls or cups, on your own wheel. Between sessions, your pieces will be bisque-fired. When you return for the second session, one of your forms will be ready for glazing, and the other — now leather-hard — will be ready to trim. You’ll also have the chance to learn how to attach a handle, turning it into a mug. This session gives you a deeper understanding of the full process, and more time to build confidence at the wheel. As with the taster session, all tools, materials, and firings are included. Your finished pieces will be ready for collection around three weeks after the final session.
The 3-session option offers the most complete pottery experience, allowing you to create, refine, and glaze your pieces. In the first session, you’ll learn the basics of throwing on the wheel, starting with a demonstration and then working on your own pieces, usually two bowls or cups.
After the first session, your pieces will be bisque-fired. In the second session, one of your pieces will be ready for glazing, while the other — now leather-hard — will be trimmed and have a handle attached to become a mug. You’ll also have more time to practice your technique and refine your skills.
In the final session, we’ll glaze your pieces, and you’ll have the chance to practice on the wheel once more. All materials, tools, and firings are included. Your finished pieces will be ready for collection in about three weeks after the last session.
