PRIVATE POTTERY SESSIONS

Private pottery lessons are one-on-one wheel throwing sessions designed for all skill levels — whether you're completely new to pottery or looking to deepen your practice. These sessions offer a hands-on, creative experience in a calm and focused setting. You can choose to book a single taster session to get a feel for the wheel, or commit to a two- or three-session package to see your pieces through the full process — from shaping to glazing.

In the single session, you'll begin by preparing the clay and learning the basics of centering and shaping on the wheel. By the end of the session, you’ll typically have created two to three small bowls. Afterward, I’ll trim and glaze your chosen pieces, and they’ll be ready for pickup about three weeks later once they’ve been fired.

If you choose to book multiple sessions, we’ll go further. In the second session, you’ll learn how to trim your leather-hard pieces and attach a handle to one of them — transforming it into a mug. We’ll also continue throwing practice if time allows. In a third session, you’ll glaze your bisque-fired work and have additional time on the wheel to improve your technique. By the end of the process, you’ll have a small collection of handmade, fully finished pieces — including at least one handled mug and a couple of bowls — ready for pickup three weeks after the final session.
